The Symbolism of DOGS:
Priscilla Van Sutphin
Feb 18, 2004

Dogs represent unbelievers/the wicked, or legalists/Judaizers.

Paul said, "Oh foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you ?" in reference to legalists and gossipers.

Phil 3:2 AMP Look out for those dogs [ Judaizers, legalists], look out for those mischief-makers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.

Rev 22:15 AMP [But] without are the dogs and those who practice sorceries (magic arts) and impurity [the lewd, adulterers] and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and deals in falsehood (untruth, error, deception, cheating).

In the above it is referring to those who practice witchcraft and sexual impurity and every other evil thing...those walking in wickedness.

Matt 7:5-6 NKJV
5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. 6 "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Matt 15:26-27 NKJV
26 But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." 27 And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."

Mark 7:27 NKJV But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs."

Luke 16:20-22 NKJV
20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.

The above made me think of those who would kick you when you're down so to speak...

come and lick your wounds causing more pain, when you are already in pain.

Recently something happened that makes me think of this. A friend of mine's daughter is pregnant out of wedlock. The father of the baby's grandmother is very legalistic, Baptist raised, but now tells everyone she is Jewish. She came to the baby shower and the whole time NEVER cracked a smile, and would not eat the food. (not prepared Kosher). She thinks [ We'll call the girl Mary] should use real diapers and not disposable, so she wrapped her gift using a baby blanket in the form of a diaper. OI VEY !

Also Mary came to my house late one night sobbing and hysterical, as she had been to this woman's house [ where her boyfriend lives ] and this woman had told her that God told her, that Mary should give up the baby to someone else and adopt it out. She then proceeded to attack her ability to be a wife and mother...unmercifully and even while Mary cried her eyes out, this woman continued to berate her and her abilities. Also she wanted control over their monies and how they spent them...on and on it went.

This is an example of what Paul calls a "dog". They'll continue to beat you when you are down, and disparage you so you can't get up. This is the harsh taskmaster whom one could never please in charge of this woman's soul. It will take away all your motivation to do anything if it can. It will make you think what God has told you is a lie and demonic, and at the same time the person is hearing from divination...getting their false words from the enemy himself. Intimidation and humiliation is the game. They will steal and rob your joy with their intimidating remarks. This spirit will make you question your own hearing from God and quench the Spirit of God within you so that you cannot hear God, nor worship or pray, or read the Word. They are those who will judge you and grant you NO GRACE, whereas God is always patient, kind, loving and forgiving.

1 Peter 4:4 NKJV In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.

Phil 3:2-4 NKJV Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation! 3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, 4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh.

2 Tim 3:12-15 NKJV But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Tim 4:18 NKJV And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!

1 Thess 5:15 NKJV See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Titus 1:10-16 NKJV The Elders' Task For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." 13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth. 15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Titus 3:1-5 NKJV to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. 3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Heb 5:14 NKJV But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

James 3:8-9 NKJV But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God.

James 3:16 NKJV For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

James 4:11-12 NKJV Do Not Judge a Brother Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

1 Peter 3:9-12 NKJV not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For "He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. 11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil."

2 Peter 2:9-11 NKJV and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, 11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

1 John 3:11-12 NKJV For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
