Statement of Purpose
October 2002
The purpose of Upstream Ministries is to demonstrate the love of Jesus in whatever manner He chooses to lead. It is to minister hope to the lost who don't know Him through whatever means capable throughout the nations. ( ie healing, provision of food, clothing, money, prayer, etc. ) and to give to ministries doing that for children and youth all over the world, as He leads us to. His guidance at this time suggests that we are to help establish orphanages, and ministries relating to children and youth in hi risk places, and abused women. Special emphasis will be given to those training children and youth, and young adults in prophetic healing evangelism, and those ministering to the abandoned women, the poor and desperate.
At home, and abroad, our hope is to raise up the generation of youth into their callings and giftings through discipleship training, prophetic and healing ministry, and education that will promote the use of these discovered talents and resources. Our hope is to inspire creative music, and artistic talents of the youth to minister evangelism in the world. And,to promote compassion for those with less advantaged that they would be sensitive to the needs of those in other countries. We are our brother's keeper. This takes some education in cross-cultural aspects they may have not learned .
Our heart is to empower and guide them in their prophetic, apostolic, and other 5 fold ministry gifts. We have an on-going heart of worship for the Lord, and hope to encourage the youth, children and adults in their pursuit of worshiping God in
Spirit and in truth. We want all in the church and without to understand the
ways of God and promote intimacy with God that leads to grace and
fulfillment of their destiny in life.
JOSHUA 3:13-16 AMP When the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord of all the earth shall rest in the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan coming down from above shall be cut off and they shall stand in one heap.
14 So when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 And when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan and the feet of the priests bearing the ark were in the brink of the water--for the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the time of harvest--
16 Then the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap far off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt [Dead] Sea, were wholly cut off. And the people passed over opposite Jericho. [Ps 114.] AMP
