SLEEP

Est 6:1-3    NKJV             The King Honors Mordecai

That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. 2 And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. 3 Then the king said, "What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?"

Job 4:13-17 NKJV

Job 33:15-18 NKJV

While slumbering on their beds, 16 Then He opens the ears of men,

And seals their instruction. 17 In order to turn man from his deed,

And conceal pride from man, 18 He keeps back his soul from the Pit,

And his life from perishing by the sword.

Ps 4:8 NKJV   I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Ps 44:23-24 NKJV   Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise! Do not cast us off forever. 24   Why do You hide Your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?

Ps 78:65-66 NKJV   Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, Like a mighty man who shouts because of wine. 66 And He beat back His enemies; He put them to a perpetual reproach.

Ps 127:2 AMP     It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil--for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.

Pause and wonder!   Blind yourselves and be blind!  They are drunk, but not with wine;  They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.  10 For the LORD has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.

11   The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, "Read this, please."

Jer 31:26 NKJV   After this I awoke and looked around, and my sleep was sweet to me.

Ezek 34:25-26 NKJV   "I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. 26   I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.
