Prayer against spirits of addiction

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Eph 5:18 NKJV
Lord God, I come to You in total helplessness. Drowning in my own lack of self discipline, I reach out for YOU to save me. I confess my addiction to sin, and I acknowlege You are the only one who can help me overcome it. Please forgive me for indulging in sorcery and seeking supernatural experiences apart from YOU. Cleanse me by the water of Your word (Eph 5:26)
I have done a poor job of maintaining my control, so I give it to YOU. Bring me face to face with my addiction to these unhealthy habits and set me free from all bondages.
Spirits of sorcery and indulgence, I bind YOU in the name of Jesus and command you to GO. I belong to Jesus Christ - you no longer have authority over me. I renounce all rights and claims I have given to You and, by the power of Jesus Christ, I refrain from my alcohol (and or drug habit) from this day forward. Jesus paid for my sins on the cross and purchased me so that I no longer need to walk in debt to sin (Gal. 1:4). Because I am in Christ, I am a new creation, the old has passed away, behold all things have become new (2 Cor 5:17)
No temptation has overtaken me except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I am able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that I may be able to bear it (1 Cor.10:13).
Through Your grace alone Father, and the power of the Holy Spirit, I can withstand all the temptations of the evil one. Lord, give me eyes to see as You see, to hear as You hear. Bind my heart to Your heart and my will to Your will, and My mind to Your mind ! Let me recognize temptation when it comes towards me, right then, so I can flee from it and take every thought captive, and so I can RUN to YOU.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe (Prov. 18:10 NKJV). Lord Jesus, I hide myself in Your name and find safety from danger and evil. Shield me from attack. May Your strength be made perfect in my weakness ( 2 Cor. 12:9).
Heal the aches and pains that I have sought to numb through alcohol
(and or drugs). When I wept, You wept with me.. When I felt rejected, You accepted me ! Please reveal to me the the knowledge of the length and depth, and width and breadth of Your love and acceptance of Me, and fill the void in My life with Your life, so that I can be filled with the fullness of YOU and be a blessing to others.
Take my focus off SELF Lord, and break the power of all the self-centeredness and selfishness in my life. Thank you I am not condemned when I trust in YOU, and throw my cares upon You, for You care FOR me. You are the friend to sinners, and I know You will look upon me with GRACE and MERCY because (Luke 7:34)because Your mercy endures forever. Guide me into Your life-giving presence. Make me thirsty and hungry for more of YOU. Fill me with the new wine of Your Spirit. And thank You for never giving up on me Father ! Because Jesus died for me, I'll live for You...by Your grace !
The weight of carrying my pain has drained me of strength and hope.
Jesus, You said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from ME, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matt. 11:29-30 NKJV) Exchange my wearisome yoke for Your easy yoke, and give me PEACE Father. Help me to keep my mind stayed on YOU.
Father fill me with thankfulness and gratefulness for Your mercy and by Your GRACE and forgive all the pride in my life in the name and blood of Jesus. I bind and renounce all curses of addiction that came down the family bloodline. I remit the sins of my ancestors for allowing these sins, iniquities, transgressions, and addictions to affect our family members. Remove from me all deception and blindness of the world, the flesh and the devil. Remove all hindrances to receiving Your love and give me GRACE Lord to OVERCOME all my past. Help me to break agreement with all lies I have believed. I renounce all rationalization for sin. Break my chains Father, that I can walk FREE in You.
I bind and cast out all spirits of addiction to:
Sugar: cokes, pepsi, softdrinks, candy, cakes, pies, cookies and sweets. I rebuke any spirit of sweet tooth or gluttony in the name and blood of Jesus !
Caffeine: coffee, soft drinks, and chocolate
Nicotine: cigarettes, pipes, cigars, and all tobacco products including chewing tobacco
Sexual: lust, pornography, masturbation, sodomy, prostitution, beastiality, and Wantonness, idolatry to opposite sex, & All other sexual enticements.
Drugs: legal or illegal, all unnecessary dependency on medicines
Alcohol:
Materialism: (idolatry to things, house, lawn, cars, anything you can buy )
TV, Telephone or Computer
Entertainment: electronic games, worldly music, movies, etc.
Dependency on Approval:
Addiction to physical illness [ hypochondria ]
Food: ( overeating, lust for unwholesome foods, junk foods, fats, salt, gluttony )
Aversion to what is good for me: Anorexia, bulimia
Academic pursuits and intellectualism
Workaholism: achievement and striving for success in the world
Physical conditioning/exercise
Father, Your Word says:
Thou shalt have no other gods beside me Ex 20:3
1 Cor 3:17 AMP If anyone does hurt to God's temple or corrupts it [with false doctrines] or destroys it, God will do hurt to him and bring him to the corruption of death and destroy him. For the temple of God is holy (sacred to Him) and that [temple] you [the believing church and its individual believers] are.
1 Sam 15:23 NKJV For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king."
Rev 9:20-21 NKJV But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
1 Cor 10:13 AMP For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.
Col 3:1-11 AMP IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [Ps 110:1.]
2 And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. 3 For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory.
5 So kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God).
6 It is on account of these [very sins] that the [holy] anger of God is ever coming upon the sons of disobedience (those who are obstinately opposed to the divine will),
7 Among whom you also once walked, when you were living in and addicted to [such practices]. 8 But now put away and rid yourselves [completely] of all these things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from your lips! 9 Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices, 10 And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. [Gen 1:26.]
Father we will to keep our body subdued, and bring it into subjection. We now make a demand on our body to come into chemical balance and our soul to come into submission to our spirit man ! Addictions you will not cause our body to malfunction in any way. We arrest the free radicals that affect our cells in our body and we command them to line up with God’s word. Body be made whole in the name and blood of Jesus !
Please heal my liver of any of the effects of drugs or alcohol or smoking and pollution of wrong food choices. I pray for wisdom and grace to only put in my body what is good for it. Cleanse my liver of all the toxins Father, and show me anything else in the natural I should do to cleanse my body.
[if you have smoked - Cleanse my lungs of all the residual and toxins from smoking Father, that I can be all you want me to be, and do all You want me to do in the name and blood of Jesus.]
We will not allow addictions to remove us from our true feelings and provide escape from the reality we live in ! We will not allow addictions to control and destroy us and our relationship with you, but we turn to the true and Living God. For the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and from all evil ! We cast down all thoughts of boredom, depression, feelings of inadequacy, feelings of being imperfect, low self esteem, insecurities, stress, guilt, and condemnation out and take every thought captive to the Lord Jesus Christ. We put our past addictions behind us !
Father, You said in Ezekiel 14 that every man of the house of Israel that sets up his idols in his own heart, and puts the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, that you would answer him according to the multitude of his idols, because they are estranged from you. I renounce all IDOLATRY to self and self will and pray You will deliver me from all that keeps me from running directly to YOU when I need something Abba !
Father, cleanse me from all idols of addiction and addictive behavior. I am not afraid of the giants of addiction, because You said if the Lord delight in us then He will bring us into this land, and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.
Father we ask You to feed us with the finest of wheat and satisfy us with honey out of the Rock. You are the honey Lord Jesus, our Rock of Defense, our Tsureee and our Strong High Tower. Deliver us oh Lord from all the strategies of the evil one. Fill our hearts with Your love that cast down all fear and insecurities. We command all demons of compulsion escapism & anxiety to go in the name and blood of Jesus.
We thank you for redeeming us and cleansing us from sin with the blood of Jesus. We thank you for the infilling of the Holy Ghost, because you said where the Spirit Of the Lord is there is liberty. Jesus said you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. HE is in us and on us, and around us and behind us, and we have the POWER of the Holy Spirit to walk in FREEDOM from addictions in Jesus name, by YOUR GRACE ABBA ! Pour out the baptism of FIRE on us Holy Spirit that we would never again allow ourselves to be deceived into bondage again.
