MORNING Prayer from the Jewish Prayer Book

O You Who gives meaning to the strivings of men, attune our hearts for communion with You.  In the stillness of the night, in the press of the crowd, in the agony of inner conflict, we bow our heads, and lo, You are in our hearts and we are at peace.  We know not Oh Lord,

Whether the gifts for which we ask are for our good, whether our trials and tribulations may not be blessings in disguise, whether even the fragment of our shattered hopes and love may not minister to the upbuilding of other lives and the fulfillment of Your unfathomable plan.  So we do not pray to You to make our lives easy, to give us happiness without alloy.  Rather we do we pray You to aid us to be uncomplaining and unafraid.

Teach us to face life with FAITH and courage that we may see the blessings hidden away even in it’s discords and struggles.  Help us to wrest life from the discipline of pain.  May we realize that life calls us not merely to enjoy the fatness of the earth but to exult in heights attained after the toil of climbing. Thus will our darkness be illuminated by Your light and our weaknesses made strong by Your strength, lifting us above fear and defeat, and sustaining our steps with an immortal hope.  Praise to YOU, Oh Lord, the stay and trust of the righteous !

We gratefully acknowledge Oh Lord Our God, that You are our Creator and Preserver, the Rock of our life and the Shield of our help.  We render thanks to YOU for our lives which are in Your hands, for our souls which are ever in Your keeping; For Your wondrous providence and for Your continuous goodness, which You bestow upon us day by day.  Truly Your mercies never fail and Your lovingkindness never ceases.  Therefore do we put our trust in You forever !

Another Daily Prayer…Pris

Jesus, You are altogether lovely !  You save us and keep us by Your power from sin and death.  You have given us Your robe of righteousness. You extend Your mercy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, tenderness, healing and compassion to us.  You are our SHIELD, our Defender, our Rock, our Hiding Place.  You are our Provider, Counselor, Great Shepherd, our Friend, Who is closer than a brother, our Love.  You are our Husbandman, the Keeper of the Vineyard.  You are the Source of all blessing and life.  You restore, rescue, forgive and redeem.  You are our Victor, the Captain of Hosts, and our Banner, our Standard, Mighty in battle and to save.  You are our King of Kings and Lord of Lords !  You are crowned with glory and honor, our Saviour, our Sanctifier, Redeemer, Merciful and Faithful High Priest.

You are the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.  You were dead, but are now alive forevermore and seated at the right hand of the Father and have seated us with You in heavenly places by Your death on the Cross !   You have destroyed death and led captivity captive. 

You alone hold the keys to death and hell !  You are the spotless Lamb and supreme Sacrifice, our Anchor and our Strong Tower, our Shield, Our Defender and You are the Bread of Life.  You are the Lily of the Valley and our Eternal Intercessor.  Holy, Holy, Holy are You and deserving of all glory, honor and praise !  You are the Lion of Judah and the Desire of all Nations.  You are the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow !  You are my Judge and the lifter of my head.  You are fairer than the sons of men.  My Beloved is white and ruddy, Chief among ten thousand !  Your eyes are like doves, and Your cheeks like a bed of spices.  Your lips are lilies dripping with liquid myrrh.  Blow upon Your garden of reknown oh Lord and bring forth Your queen dressed in Ophir.  Ravish our hearts for your love is better than wine.  All our fountains are in You, Oh Lord !  Our hope is in You alone !  Send out Your light and truth !

Kiss us with the kisses of Your mouth !  Kiss us and kill us Lord ! Help us to embrace death to self by Your grace for You are our exceedingly great Joy !  Fill us with Your joy and laughter, with wisdom , understanding and knowledge of Your ways, and Your love for when we are filled with the fullness of the knowledge of Your love, it says only then can we be filled with the fullness of YOU ! 

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You oh Lord !  My soul thirsts for the Living God.  When can I see you oh Lord ?  Direct my heart into the love of God and the patience of Christ oh Lord !  Let Your name be glorified in me and me in You according to Your GRACE. [ 2 Thess 1:12]  May Your love abound in me and to others to demonstrate Your great love to them.  Help me to be patient, to endure persecution and tribulations till the end. [ 1 Thes 1]

Grant me GRACE FATHER, that I can be all You want me to be and do all you want me to do.

Thank You Lord that You in righteousness repay with tribulation those who trouble me and that You give the troubled REST when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels. [ 1 Thes 1:6-7]   Thank You that You are coming to be glorified in Your saints and to be admired among all those who believe !  Count us worthy of this calling and fulfill the good pleasure of Your goodness in us and the work of faith with POWER ! 

God of peace, sanctify us with Your glory as You did the first temple. Fill us more and more with Your kindness, love, patience, humility, goodness & peace.  Soon You will descend from heaven with a shout, and the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God and the dead in Christ shall arise and we who are alive and remain shall be caught up  together with them – Help us to comfort one another as the times grow more perilous and to encourage one another in You !  [ Hab 3:19 ] The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

Lord You said in Joel 2 that Your people will never be put to shame. We will praise Your name because You have dealt wondrously with us.  You are the Lord and there is no other.  Lord it says that in this hour and ever since Pentacost that You will pour out Your Spirit on all flesh, and that our sons and daughters will PROPHESY !  That old men shall dream dreams and young men will see visions, and that on both men and women You will pour out Your Spirit in these days.  COME HOLY SPIRIT and POUR !

Give ear to my words oh Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and My God !  For to You I pray.  I look to YOU for help in my time of need.  I worship You for You alone are HOLY !  YOU ALONE are the Source of everything I NEED.  Lead me oh Lord in Your righteousness. Make Your way straight before My face.  Let those who rejoice put their trust in You, because You defend us !  Make us joyful in YOU.  Grant us GRACE to rejoice in all situations. Surround us with FAVOR as with a SHIELD according to Your JUSTICE.

My soul is often troubled because of the world. Return oh Lord and deliver me !  Deliver us according to Your lovingkindness.  My eyes fill with tears to see the calamity and wickedness all around us.  My soul is grieved to see the lack of love for you in people all around me.  Hear my cries oh Lord.  YOU hear the cries of Your people it says, all over the world Oh LORD !  Rend the heavens and come down. [ Is 64]  Oh, that You would rend the heavens !

That You would come down!  That the mountains might shake at Your presence —  As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil — To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!  So shall they fear

The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

Lift up Your standard Oh Lord that the nations may know that they are but dust. [Isa 59] 

Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, Whose mouth speaks lying words,

And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood —  That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; That our daughters may be as pillars, Sculptured in palace style; [Ps 144]

Your word says "Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, And set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, And your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders;   Kings shall be your foster fathers, And their queens your nursing mothers; They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, And lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me." [ Isa 49]  Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.  Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you. [Isa 60:4-5]  Your glory will cover the earth like the waters cover the sea.

Lord You said, “FEAR NOT, for I am with you.  Be not dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you and uphold you with My righteous right hand.”  Behold all those incensed against me will shall be ashamed and disgraced.  They shall be as nothing, and those who strive with me out of a heart of wickedness shall perish.  I will seek them and not find them. Those who war against me shall be as nothing. For You will hold my right hand.

You say to me, “Fear not, I will help you .”  You will make me into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth.  I shall thresh the mountains an dbeat them small [false authority, demons], And make the hills like chaff.  I shall winnow them and the wind will carry them away and the whirlwind of the Lord will scatter them; I shall rejoice in the Lord of Hosts and glory in the Holy One of Israel.  You rescue the needy out of the ash heap and set him among princes.

Father, rescue the poor and downtrodden of this world.  Do not forsake Your Beloveds.  Reveal Your Son and Your mighty power towards those who believe and trust in YOU and show Your might among the unbelieving that they may come to YOU.  You said You would open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of valleys, and make the wilderness a pool of water & springs of water in the dry land that they may know & consider & understand together that the hand of Yahweh has done this and created it.

Oh Lord, a bruised reed You do not break and smoking flax You do not quench.  Let me be like this too Lord so that I will not crush those who are broken in spirit.  Bring forth JUSTICE for TRUTH oh LORD !  Establish Your JUSTICE in the earth !  Help me to be Your light in darkness & the SALT of the earth.  Make me into a living flame of FIRE !  I want to open blind eyes, and bring prisoners out of prison, and those who sit in darkness to the light of Your glory that they may also know Your love and kindness.  Raise up again the Tabernacle of David in the earth that all may praise Yeshua !   Make Your name GLORIOUS in all you do in and through us Abba !   Grant us the GRACE to praise and worship you in the face of peril and persecution, and famine and all the things coming on the earth.  Let Your people shout and sing and give glory to the Lord and declare Your praises in all the earth !

The Lord is going forth as a Mighty man.  He is stirring up His zeal like a man of WAR !  He is shouting aloud to the nations. He is prevailing against His enemies. He will lay waste the mountains & hills & will bring the blind spiritually by a way they did not know !  He will lead them in paths they did not know and make darkness light before them, and not forsake them.

All who trust in carves images and false gods will be turned around and greatly ashamed.  The Lord will exalt HIS righteousness & ways in the earth for the earth is full of people robbed and plundered. They are snared in holes and hidden in prison houses made by men and demons.  They are for prey and no one DELIVERS, for plunder & no one says “ RESTORE !”  So we say, RESTORE OH LORD the ancient foundations in Christ Jesus !  RESTORE & bring salvation to all nations !  Use us Lord to bring in the harvest. Give us souls Father !

Father, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.  Let me not return to striving and works and the law but to walk in the freedom for which Christ has made me free.  I renounce all self condemnation, and false guilt & rebuke spirits of religion, condemnation & guilt in the name and blood of Jesus !   Help me to walk in the light as YOU are in the light, and to not sing back into legalism & self doubt.  Help us to take every thought captive to the Lord Jesus Christ by Your GRACE.  Empower us to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Lord we need YOUR LOVE, otherwise it is impossible  to love You as we ought to or to love the brethren & all around us.  Bind our hearts to Your heart, and our minds to Your mind, and our wills to Your will.  Set me as a seal upon Your heart oh Lord.  As a seal upon Your arm !  I am Your beloved, and You are mine !  Your desire is towards me.  I am dark, but lovely to YOU oh LORD.  I am fair and pleasant to you, even in my weakness and immaturity.  Though I can see all my weaknesses, yet You LOVE ME as no other loves me.

Thank You FATHER for Your great love for me.  Do something in me this day, that You’ve not done before Lord.  I am desperate for MORE OF YOU.  Consume ME HOLY SPIRIT !

BRING YOUR FIRE and burn up all that cannot withstand the test.  Cleanse me of all unrighteousness, and create in me a new heart, like Yours Lord.  In the name and blood of Jesus !
