Menopausal help from nature:

Red Clover....contains all four isoflavones that make up the estrogen component..this is  very good herb for estrogen supplementation...it is cheaper than others and you can drink it as a tea as well if you don't like taking capsules.  Amount has to be adjusted for each person.

Black Cohosh - helps breathing, helps synergize estrogen production

Buy a good progesterone cream at the health food store...or make your own with wild yam...added to a non allergenic lotion....Progesterone is even more important than estrogen at this time..especially for your bones...

It is important to add more fish if you can to your diet and natural oils...like from avocado...as they help lower your risk of heart attack....there are good oils and bad oils...but eat fish low in mercury...just google sites for which fish have lowest mercury levels

Fish is the easiest way to get your Vit. E and good oils. Good oils actually help your cholesterol levels if you don't abuse them. BE careful about using cold pressed oils instead of just any old processed oil....cold pressed olive oil is best as it has the good oil.  DO NOT use regular canola oil...better to use cold pressed safflower,  or virgin olive oil than a processed one.

B6    50 mg    3x/day (pyridoxine - minimizes water retention and eases symptoms)
Might need more of this than what is called for.  [See Food Matters movie ]

Calcium  2000 mg daily...relieves nervousness and night leg cramping
Take half at night an hour before going to bed
Magnesium - up to 1000 mg daily  but if you get diarrhea, need to cut back.

Milk Thistle for a month,  once a year ....detoxifies your liver from pollutants/ toxins, alcohol effects.  At the same time once a year only eat salads...this alone will detoxify your liver but use dark green lettuce like romaine, spinach, red leaf lettuce, etc.

Soy, chickpeas....other cultures eat these and they are a natural source of estrogens...( there is no word in Japanese for hot flashes ) Make sure they are ORGANIC !

Vitamin C....500 mg.....4 X a day during hard hot flash times...or just eat lots of fruits

Apples have a rich source of  BORON which is needed for calcium retention

Ginseng w/gotu kola  relieves depression, & helps in estrogen production, and energy.

Eliminate caffeine....increases estrogen loss and nervousness.

Some recommentd to eliminate dairy, white sugar, and decrease intake of red meat.
I do eat yogurt, and occassionally cheese that is not orange, or goat cheese.  You can use honey instead of sugar.  You can substitute with natural tupulo honey....honey has the added benefit if not processes too much of helping allergies...2 tablespoons of honey...made in your own area will help desensitize you to plants you may be allergic to.
Eat in smaller amounts , several times per day besides meals...so 5-6 times a day versus 3 large meals...

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
