Christ Our Covenant of Salt
February 6, 2003
Luz Cintron
I had a vision in it I was shown a rectangular rock, it looked like a
rectangular block of stone, smooth and flawless. Every time I had been
praying for someone specially for healing, and doubt and unbelief draw near,
I sense it clearly and I see this rock. No understanding at this point so I
kept my quiet waiting. He knew I had not a clue.
Then I see an arm, bare and extended pouring salt in a perfect line forming
what looked like a rectangle, either that or a square because it was not
shown to me in its fullness but I could see that it had corners and that it
was possibly a rectangle as far as I could see.
I felt all this was done around the building, on the ground but there was no
sidewalk or paved street, it was the bare ground. I wondered could it be as
something established in the place, the location but at the same time is
something established with men and that may be why the ground is bare
showing it to be like a covenant made upon and unto men (formed from the
ground, we are dust before Him )?
At that point I had no understanding. I went on my way to pick up my son
from school and when I turn the corner I heard the Spirit say: A Covenant of
Salt! Yeah right like a have a clue about it. But I started to look into it.
I look for the salt, I looked for the rock and I looked for covenants of
salt. I found something on each of them. The Lord made with David a Covenant
of Salt when He established David's throne for ever.
Should you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave the dominion over
Israel to David for ever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?
2 Chro. 13:5
Aaron and his children receive from the Lord the offerings of the holy
things which the children of Israel offer the Lord as a covenant of salt.
All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel
offer to the Lord, I have given to you and your sons and daughters with you
as an ordinance forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord
with you and your descendants with you. Numbers 18:19
So it seems it is an enduring (eternal) covenant, seems like the Lord makes
a one side covenant dependent only upon His grace and mercy poured forth in
favor.
Salt is indispensable in every offering.
And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither
shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy
meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt. Lev 2:13
Salt also a sign of judgment:
[And that] the whole land thereof [is] brimstone, and salt, [and] burning,
[that] it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the
overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD
overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
Deut 29:23
And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city,
and slew the people that [was] therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it
with salt. Jdg 9:45
In judgment and in the context opposite of the blessings upon those that
trust in the Lord whose hope is the Lord.
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh
flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good
cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, [in] a salt
land and not inhabited. Jer 17:5-6
Also in judgment in the context oppose to the river that brings life
And it shall come to pass, [that] every thing that liveth, which moveth,
whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very
great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they
shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
And it shall come to pass, [that] the fishers shall stand upon it from
Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a [place] to spread forth nets;
their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea,
exceeding many.
But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed;
they shall be given to salt.
And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall
grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit
thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months,
because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof
shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine
Eze 47:10-12
But salt used in ministering healing from barrenness upon the land:
And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation
of this city [is] pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water [is] naught, and
the ground barren.
And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought
[it] to him.
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there,
and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not
be from thence any more death or barren [land].
2King 2:19-21
With salt one can eat unsavory things ( With faith in Him we can endure all
things as in "through Christ who strengthens me")
Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there [any] taste
in the white of an egg? Job 6:6
( Now, isn't 6 the number of man? Can this also speak of being unsavory
unto the Lord without salt?)
Salt as a type of the Believers influence How about without Christ, Our
Covenant of Salt, we are useless, we can not endure nor remain. We are to be
thrown in streets and be trampled under the feet of men? A type of the
believer's faith, as an influence of change in the world around them. Also a
warning against judgment that comes from losing it:
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be
cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Mat 5:13
Salt in the believer's life
For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted
with salt.
Mar 9:49
Salt [is] good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye
season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mar
9:50
Let your speech [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know
how ye ought to answer every man. Col 4:6
Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so
[can] no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. James 3:12
(Let them be converted unto you and not you unto them)
So what is salt if it is not the essence of trust which is faith, alive and
active in yielding and in obedience, bringing forth His will, all of it, for
mercy and for judgment, upon earth? Mercy upon those who believe judgment
unto those who resist His word, for it is His word given them who will judge
them at that hour.
"A Covenant of Salt" I heard the Spirit speak.
Christ is our covenant of salt. Like the Manna rained from heaven, and was
spread all over, freely given, set before His children as He prepared each
morning a table for them in the wilderness. That Manna, ready to become
their sustenance was there before them
All they needed to do was stretch their hand and take it, every day fresh
and ready.
It is written that in the morning the dew lay all around the camp and when
the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a
small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. This dew is known to
come down during the night, just as Christ comes to us in the darkness of
the night. To the people who lived in the land of darkness the light has
shown to them.
My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as
the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Deut
32:2
What is a speech but words, but this One who speaks if the Most High and His
word is a person, isn't He? He enters darkness and when he was lifted up he
unveiled our sustenance, given to us for ever, a covenant of salt through
all generations.
Great assurance is He to those who trust Him:
My root [was] spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my
branch.
Job 29:19
Isn't it a blessing in the midst of the darkest night the feeling of the Dew
upon us? Don't we know that once the dark night is over sustenance will be
revealed once more because Light has overcome darkness in us?
Consider Him who in His pursuit of you gave Himself in the midst of the
night to knock and wait, locks filled with the drops of the night, head
filled with dew for you. Even if you sleep your heart waketh because love
calls, deep unto deep, at the sound of all His waterfalls. It is not a
trickle, He is a passionate man.
I sleep, but my heart waketh: [it is] the voice of my beloved that knocketh,
[saying], Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head
is filled with dew, [and] my locks with the drops of the night. Song of
Solomon 5:2
He has given Himself to be covered of night
Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day:
the darkness and the light [are] both alike [to thee].
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb
Psalm 139:12-13
But He can not be overcome by darkness but in the darkness he has defeated
death and made the darkness serve Him
He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the
shadow of death. Job 12:22
He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness [was] under his feet.
Psalm 18:9
He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him [were] dark
waters [and] thick clouds of the skies. Psalm 18:11
He is our Heavenly Manna spread upon the ground, us as dust before Him. He
is our Heavenly: What is it? Even after all that has been revealed, even
after all that has been bestowed, we look upon Him and go; What is it? More
and more I find myself considering that definitely He did not create us as
creatures of knowledge. I look around the things that happen to me and I
have to wonder; can I be any more stupid than this?
He brings forth a revelation and I go around it completely blind until He
opens it up, and then how can any man take credit for that? He speaks and
gives like a headline and then until illumination is also given I can spend
the rest of my life repeating what He said like a parrot, having my spirit
jump all over inside of me, but the eyes of my understanding remain breaking
records of dumb and dumber. He speaks, who can but prophesize, but then
again who prophesize? Definitely not me, I am not a prophet, I am a lover
of Truth.
Polly wants a cracker and even that is not perfect or perfected. He knows
and yet He chooses us. Today He spoke, today He said Come forth. Trust Me?
Trust Me also with your flesh. Can we trust Him with our flesh and stop the
obsession of sin that holds us back? It means losing the fear to be naked.
At least that is for me. I have worship fear instead of fearing the Lord in
worship. From today I broke covenant with fear, I shall trust Him and refuse
to think about myself. Will I make mistakes, that is for sure being as slow
to understand as I am. Thing is He is greater than all this. I receive Him
as a covenant of salt. He is a covenant of salt because He is for ever given
us as an ordinance forever from the Father. We shall put Jesus on or there
will always be a lack of salt in our offerings disqualifying us all.
As the Lord our God gave David dominion over Israel to him and his sons by a
covenant of salt so has the lord given those who receive Him and His
testimony, dominion upon the flesh, the world and all upon the earth, even
sickness and disease that accursed as it was from the beginning has been
feeding on dust, for dust we are before the Lord who formed us from the dust
This covenant is established in Christ, our heavenly "What is it?" Beyond
what we can understand sop that no flesh can glory. Relentlessly because
there is no change of mind in Him about it. If we or our children should
fail, He will visit us and deal with us but He will not withdraw His mercy
nor His covenant established in the blood of the Only begotten. He is our
provision, sin has already been dealt with and now He sits to refine us,
and refine us He will, but His mercy and grace He will not withdraw it is a
covenant of salt forever.
This is not in any way a license to sin, but an invitation to change focus
and come to see in His light. An invitation to stop being so obsessed with
ourselves and set our eyes and hearts upon Him, an invitation to walk and
enter to walk in the freedom of the Spirit.
Christ is the perfect Rock, rectangular as the tabernacle was rectangular
because the tabernacle pointed unto Him. Flawless and perfect, solid
everything that is built, is edified upon Him. We are drawn upon the rock
that looks like an altar top and is the foundation of all we are and are
becoming in His hands.
He is the showbread table and the Bread Of Provision upon it. Like our
fathers in the wilderness labored and went to gather their provision every
day and on the 6th day were given double so that men could rest, so is with
us. Because rest is commanded to men in order to enter into His perfect
order.
Every Sabbath the priest in the wilderness would lay the bread of memorial
before the Lord. It was on the Sabbath, because that is how we enter.
Every Sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, [being
taken] from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.
And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy
place: for it [is] most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by
fire by a perpetual statute. Lev 24:8-9
In the Bread of Memorial, man must cease and allow God to be all that He is.
That was the purpose for which we were created, we were created to show Him
forth, but we can not show Him forth if we remain obsessed with ourselves.
That is an abomination before Him. That is why the changing of the Bread of
Memorial was set on the day of rest, and we know that man was not made for
the day, but the day was made for man, so that God would be served with a
fit vessel for glory.
Christ is the double portion given to man to enter into the Sabbath of the
Lord. Every time we refuse to yield and trust we are saying He is not enough
for us. Every time we try to fulfill instead of allowing Him to become in us
we behave like those who went to gather Manna on that first Sabbath day.
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and
my laws?
See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you
on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let
no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
So the people rested on the seventh day. Exodus 16:28_30
Beloved it is time that we enter and give glory to Whom glory is due. We can
not gather for the next day, unless grace is given and rest is provided
through it. For the gathering of the sixth day was for resting and in that
resting the other Manna that comes from the mouth of God then is served to
us, in our day of worship in fellowship with the Most High and I tell you
the day has now become a Way of life.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Mat 4:4
What is this word but the very Son of God in flesh? What are words but
breath and sound? Hasn't He already given us the breath of the Spirit? Was
not this Spirit who cause man to become a living soul instead of a lump of
dirt shaped by His hands? Did he not cause us to live by His breath? Then if
so, what is the real sustenance of our lives if it be not His very breath?
Can food sustain our lives before the living God? Have we not read that all
flesh would perish before Him? Do we sit to feed on Him? Do we? Or are we
still going out to gather for ourselves even in the day of rest for worship?
It is the fellowship He is after to nurse us at His breast. If you let it
stand without taken Him in the Manna portion will rot on you, will produce
worms and stink at you to reveal the death in which you have chosen to live.
It is to be eaten, consumed every day in its measure as it is given. He is
the Way we are to live, a daily provision to be sought daily.
Don't live on yesterday Manna because if you do it won't be long before you
will start to stink and wiggle with worms. Receive from Him daily and live.
It is in rest we come before Him and the blood of the Lamb upon us becomes a
memorial before Him that speaks on our behalf for our every need. Man must
rest to enter trust in Him. He is then our rest and our provision unto rest,
then and only then we are in Him, with Him and through Him the Bread of
Memorial before the Lord.
Our foundation is flawless, we can trust Him. Our foundation is solid, our
foundation is strong. He wants our eyes, the eyes of our face and of our
hearts (for it is with the heart that we understand) set upon Him and that
is the altar of our faith, the solid Rock of Ages. For if we do, the altar
then will become a banqueting table served in the presence of our enemies
and Our Rock the very sustenance we need, our Manna set before us. The Rock
then, can be a place of slaughter or a banqueting place.
In the vision He stretched forth His arm and His arm was bare because He is
ready to war for us. His arm was pouring a line of salt upon the bare ground
because He was establishing the perimeter, securing it in His resolve. See
that He has established it and no enemy will be allowed to enter to do their
thing for the glory of the Lord will deal with them and oppose them.
Like a man before a fight takes off his garment so has the Lord uncover
Himself and stand ready. He has become the watchman and the builder, He has
become the judge in the midst of the field who said: "No more from this
field, not even one pea will you spoil from here".
The field is holy unto Him. Be careful not to pretend to be what He has not
yet changed you into, for it is in rest, all rest that you enter before Him.
Only Believe!!!!!
Wait I say, wait on Him because He has called it to pass. Enter in rest and
trust Him, for He will not suffer flesh to take His glory, He will not bless
the work of our flesh, but He will bless us through the yielding of our
faith under His hand and that will keep us from pride, to know that at all
times. Not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit. We can not cause it to
be, it is already, we only have to enter in it and in entering yield to
diminish until He becomes All in All.
The Lord sits in His holy temple, let all the earth become silent before Him
Soon He will stretch forth His arm of war from His tabernacle upon the city
He will stretch it against His enemies. Be still and know, be still and
witness the deliverance of the Lord, that He is about to perform for His
glory. Yield I say and trust.
