You are the God of the humble...
a song came to mind.
I had been thinking this last week about Jesus’ birth & the circumstances after watching “The Nativity” movie which I love.
As a former RN who did work in OB, labor & delivery, with newborns, both the sick, premature, & the healthy ones. I tried to imagine how Mary gave birth in that lowly stable, knowing the conditions of the times.
When I had gone to India in 2002 & 2003, I’d seen what it was like to live back then, because conditions in India in many parts were still like that. Building homes with simple tools & tree limbs, treading out the grain, with bulls pulling a huge cylindrical concrete weight, ironing clothes with a hot coal placed in side a tall non electric iron, digging a well with hand tools, etc, etc.
So I tried to imagine Joseph trying to help his wife deliver the King of Kings they knew was their long awaited Savior. Did she bring cloths to help? How did they handle baby excrement? How did they handle the bloody placenta, & clean up after the bloody delivery? Did anyone help them with water & clean up? Imagine how the Lord who created everything came in such a humble setting, not even a real room but with the animals in the cave/stall.
I imagined such practicalities they had to endure through, & you see a very humble beginning for the Lord of Hosts in this world. And it was in the midst of times similar to our own, where oppression of the Roman Empire was pre-eminent, & serious type oppression such as Crucifixions, rapes, taking young girls hostage to use for debt payment, oppressive taxes & poverty.
Pagan entities were ruling over Israel’s homeland through the Roman occupation. And then there’s Herod the tetrarch, who killed all the children in Bethlehem to try & stop the Messiah.
But in all that, an angel warned Joseph, just as he had told him of Mary being pregnant with their Messiah, so Joseph fled with Mary to Egypt. Yet God had provided for them through the Magi with gold, frankincense & myrrh. Symbolic yes, but also practical gifts.
Then today I heard a very popular minister/prophet say the gold was so he could be trained in the temple with the Word of God, in essence. I was astonished. The LIVING WORD who knew what was in the heart of man so that no one needed to tell him, this minister was saying needed to be trained, & I don’t doubt His upbringing in the Word, but the gold being for that, made me ponder. I am asking God of the truth of that.
1 Cor. 4:6 NIV Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself & Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather in what is in the HEART.
The misleading of the BOC has been so strong in much of the church that goes by the name of Jesus. And the exalting of those who are pastors/prophets/teachers, has been to the point of idolatry, people not even questioning or confronting them. It’s not all the leaders’ faults. I once went to a Heidi Baker meeting up north of LA & the idolatry spirit that was there was incredibly palpable. The people made her an idol.
Today I heard someone else say we need to study quantum theory because God created it. Yet people do not know the Word as they need to. I had struggled for years to read the word after having such wonderful illumination of scripture & loving the Word for years.
Had gone through so much witchcraft attacks from a church where I had been an asst pastoress.
There have been so many people trying to carve out their own little specialty, or spirit gifting, etc. One young man of long acquaintance told me recently, I need not prophesy anymore because now we can ascend into the heavens. I told him I’ll do whatever the Lord wants me to do or say.
So waiting for the Lord to speak, I hear...
“Humble came I to this earth for My LOVE of all that I have created!
I AM the Lord of Lords, & the King of Kings, but I left it all to die for mankind’s sins. I wanted to lay down My life to create a Bride that was sinless & could return to Me.
I came to humble people who were of NO reputation or influence. I used as apostles the same humble people. Fishermen most of them.
I chose people that were uneducated save Judas the betrayer, & Thomas. Not many wise are chosen Paul told you. Paul himself was very educated yet persecuted My beloveds. He had to be humbled to change his pharisaical heart.
In this hour, I will do the same to those who have been religious without compassion for the humble of the earth. None of those I chose were perfect people. I alone AM the Perfect One!! I delight in choosing those who’ve never known grace, & I work My heart into them that they would be conduits of Grace & Mercy like I AM.
1 Corinthians 1: 4-8, 18-31 NKJV
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance & all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ….
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
& bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 For Jews request a sign, & Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block & to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews & Greeks, Christ the power of God & the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, & the weakness of God is stronger than men. Glory Only in the Lord
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, & God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
28 and the base things of the world & the things which are despised God has chosen, & the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,
29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—& righteousness & sanctification & redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”
“It is NOT a small things to take upon yourself the glory belonging only to God Almighty! I urge those of you who know you have been careless in this arena to repent, & realize I alone am deserving of all the glory. For all that you have I have given to you. All that you are I have created in you. I called you from the foundations of the earth.
So to receive the glory I want to pour out, you must bow lower, going through the narrow gate, for I AM coming to cleanse My threshing floor. When you hear the ROAR OF THE LION OF JUDAH IN YOUR MIDST, GO LOW. For I am coming with My terrible swift sword to lay low every principality & power usurping control of My own people. Keep your eyes on Me. Eat the Word & get it into you, for you will challenged on all sides in the days ahead. Don’t worry if you feel unable for the Holy Spirit will give you utterance as you need it. He WILL recall to your memory all you need in your time of need.
But to the presumptive heart, glory will be painful. I promised to humble all that lifts up it’s head against Me. I promised there would be no more Caananite in the house of the Lord.
The GLORY I AM BRINGING WILL UPSET THE APPLE CART OF THE ENEMY IN THIS HOUR. YOU CANNOT IMAGINE THE SURPRISE IT WILL BE TO ALL IN THE EARTH! GLORIOUS DISCOVERIES WILL BE FOUND OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE THAT WILL ASTOUND MANY. BUT THE DENIERS CONTROLLED BY EVIL ONES WILL CONTINUE ON IN THEIR FOOLISHNESS.
So do not be at all concerned by their nonsense. Just be MY arms & mouth to the lost & afflicted. For I will do mighty signs & wonders in your midst. Answers will come more swiftly, so do not adhere to past experiences. EXPECT MIRACULOUS CHANGES!”

Prov 15:33 Message bible Fear-of-God is a school in skilled living— first you learn humility, then you experience glory.
Isaiah 13:11 NIV "I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty & will humble the pride of the ruthless.
Jeremiah 49:16 NIV The terror you inspire & the pride of your heart have deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks, who occupy the heights of the hill. Though you build your nest as high as the eagle's, from there I will bring you down," declares the Lord.
Zephaniah 2:3 NKJV says: Seek the Lord all you meek of the earth, who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger.
Webster's dictionary says this: Humility is the quality or state of being humble in spirit, freedom from pride or arrogance. Having a low opinion of one's own importance or merits.
Haughty: disdainfully proud or overbearing: arrogant.
Arrogant: having a feeling of superiority that shows or is inclined to show itself in an overbearing attitude or in claiming more consideration than is due to one's position, dignity or power: exaggerating one's own worth or importance. (ex: "He was always right")
Isaiah 53 ever remains the consummate example of Jesus's humility. v. 2b. He has no from or comeliness; & when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3) He is despised & rejected by men, a Man of sorrows & acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, & we did not esteem Him.
Humility does not take credit for what God does, or did. God alone sanctifies us. God is our resource for everything we have in the way of talents or gifts, for our compassion, for our natural gifts, or supernatural gifts. Yet we still stumble in this area, thinking gifting is a measure of our favor with God, when it is purely a measure of His LOVE.
